Over-55s 'more adept' at energy saving

It has been found that people over the age of 55 are keener to reduce their energy bills than the younger generation.
Energy costs can be reduced in a variety of ways, including installing new windows in Dublin to combat heat loss.
A survey by independent energy supplier Opus Energy found that the over-55s are 25 per cent more likely to reduce their monthly bills by being energy efficient than Generation X or Y.
Louise Boland, director at the company, said: "It is clear that having lived through two recessions, our older generations are more adept at taking steps to save on their energy usage to cut their bills."
She also claims that the older age groups have embraced "modern technology" to a greater extent than younger homeowners.
Switching to double glazed windows can save thousands of euros in the long term.
